CRICKET JOBS: Community Engagement Manager - WACA (Aus)

The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) is the governing body for cricket in the state of Western Australia (WA). The WACA is home to WA’s elite teams, the Alcohol.Think Again Warriors and the Alcohol.Think Again Western Fury, as well as the Big Bash League’s male and female Perth Scorchers. It oversees the development of the game of cricket throughout WA and works in conjunction with Cricket Australia to make cricket Australia’s favourite sport. The WACA’s vision is to be Leaders in Australian Cricket in all areas including national team representation, elite team success, participation, engagement and fan experience.
The WACA has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager to build community engagement participation programs across female, multicultural, Aboriginal and all abilities communities within Western Australia.

The key role responsibilities include:

  •     Working collaboratively in developing and evaluating strategies to promote the game of cricket among targeted community groups and demographics such as female, multicultural, Aboriginal and all abilities.
  •     Building, managing and leveraging relationships with peak bodies, government and other strategic partners to secure funding and to encourage the advocacy of cricket.
  •     Promoting specific community based cricket initiatives and other targeted community programs.


Reporting to the General Manager – Game Development, this full time permanent position will suit an inspiring and accomplished leader with a passion for participation.

To be successful in this role you, it is preferred that you have a relevant tertiary qualification with at least two years experience in a similar position such as growing participation in Community Engagement target groups. You will have proven experience managing relationships with stakeholders and in particular community organisations.

It is essential that you have demonstrated capacity to develop strategies designed to promote sport among targeted community groups along with knowledge of the government and sporting related grants and funding process. Sensitivity to understand and adapt to different cultural and ethnic requirements is a must.
