CRICKET JOBS: Director of Cricket - Banstead CC (UK)

 Banstead CC is looking for a Director of Cricket who will be responsible for the day to day running of cricket at the club. This person will need to build upon the foundations that are in place and continue to grow and improve cricket at the club. The successful candidate will need to form a link between the junior and senior sections at the club, ensuring colts are being developed and integrated into senior cricket.

As a focal point of the club, applicants need to have good social, organisational, man management and coaching skills. Although not necessary some entrepreneurial and business skills would also be of added benefit. It would also be preferable if the successful candidate was able to play in one of our senior Saturday sides.
Cricket Season Responsibilities
 

  •     Organise and coach colts training throughout the summer on Thursday and Friday nights. To include finding and managing coaches with the help of the colts manager.
  •     Actively try and recruit new colts to continue to grow the colts section of the club.
  •     Liaise with colts parents.
  •     Organise and coach summer camps.
  •     Organise and coach senior training on Wednesday nights throughout the cricket season.
  •     Organise community coaches to attend local schools to provide after school / lunch time cricket courses.
  •     Attend and participate in senior selection on Wednesday nights.
  •     Attend cricket committee meetings.
  •     Regular communication with Chairman of Cricket, colts manager and senior captains.
  •      Use Banstead CC’s outdoor nets for one to one coaching with individual clients (do not have to be Banstead CC members) Banstead CC will take percentage of the  agreed fee.
  •     Organise and run Easter, half term and summer camps.
  •     With the help of a team manager - coach and run an agreed upon colts side. You will be required to be present on all of their match days.
  •     Present an end of season review and recommendations for the next cricket season.


Winter Responsibilities / Opportunities
 

  •     Organise and coach Colts winter training.
  •     Organise and coach senior winter nets.
  •     Attend cricket committee meetings
  •      Use Banstead CC club house and grounds to run cricket and other camps. Banstead CC to take percentage of the profit.


Downsend School Responsibilities
The successful candidate will also have the possibility to work in partnership with Downsend School at the Surrey Cricket Performance and Development Centre. The school possesses excellent facilities, including a 4-bay indoor net centre, a 4-bay outdoor net centre, two squares and an AstroTurf. Contributions to the development of cricket at Downsend may include:
 

  •     Indoor winter coaching (2-4 hours per week);
  •     Outdoor summer coaching and courses;
  •     Timings would be negotiated between Banstead CC and Downsend, with the remuneration being provided by Downsend at an agreed hourly rate.


Pay and Incentives
The successful candidate will be remunerated with a competitive basic salary which will cover all of the mandatory hours of work that Banstead CC and Downsend School will require. There will also be agreed upon incentives based upon KPI’s such as growing the colt’s membership and increasing numbers at summer camps.
