CRICKET JOBS: Sales Executive, Meetings and Events - MCC, Lords (UK)

Lord’s Ground, the most famous cricket ground in the world, and owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (the Club), is renowned worldwide for staging international cricket matches with up to 28,500 spectators in attendance.  Lord’s is also an exceptional venue with a wealth of experience in delivering high quality events on non-match days, hosted by our Meetings and Events and Sales team.

 

An opportunity has arisen within our Meetings and Events and Sales Department for a Sales Executive to support the Sales Manager with promoting Lord’s Cricket Ground as a major events venue. The role will also focus on achievement and delivery of financial and quality standards in adherence with both the annual Sales and Marketing plan and the Club’s Strategic Plan. 

The Sales Executive will handle all incoming queries, ensuring that prospective clients receive appropriate information in a timely fashion, in respect of the Lord’s offerings including food and beverage, capacity and associated costs, up-selling where appropriate.  He or she will also record all enquiries and bookings onto the Kinetix system and will contact clients on a regular basis with a view to establishing long term client relationships and securing new business.

 

Required skills and experience

With some experience of working in an events venue the ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus, along with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills as he or she will be required to establish relationships with a range of people from different levels and backgrounds. 

Strong IT skills, especially Word and Excel, is essential, along with the ability to prioritise and organise workloads and work to often tight deadlines. Significant flexibility is required for attendance on Major Match Days.
