How do you go about setting a target batting first? That's the topic under discussion as we examine the failures of the ODI series between India and New Zealand. Don't make the same mistakes in your club side, listen to the show for advice from David Hinchliffe, Mark Garaway and Sam Lavery.
Plus, in the mailbag, there are questions about game plans for playing spin and the differences between formats and how that influences your style and tempo of play. But as usual the conversation wanders into much wider areas, including a single question - related to Doctor Who - that will turn negative experiences into positive changes.
And Garas gives us another great term: pressure mountains. Listen to the show to find out more.

So how do we go about developing the first two phases?

Cricket Show 245: Competition Winner
This week's winner of the Cricket Show podcast question competition is Michael. He wins a free coaching course from PitchVision Academy.
The winning question was:
"I am 15 years old and I play cricket for my local club. I love my sport and I play tennis too. I have tennis on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings, and I have cricket training on Thursday afternoons and Under 17's on Sunday morning and Seniors in the afternoon. So my workload is pretty tough. I am an all-rounder, so I bat and bowl pace. I often get shoulder and lower back injuries and when I bowl it is painful. I do strength and conditioning work on my arms and core everyday but the pain still occurs. I am wondering how I can prevent the pain? Should I lessen my workload or do I need to change my bowling action/technique? Thanks heaps!"
