The Zaheer Khan Guide to Building Bowling Stamina

It's well documented that Zaheer Khan returned to fitness in 2013 by attending a "performance camp" in France. What can you learn from how Zaheer did it to help you improve your bowling stamina?

The exciting part for me is that he did it without the old fashioned mantra of "putting miles in your legs" and jogging. That's not to say he needed a lot of special expensive gear either. Everything the paceman did is simple to recreate at home, in the gym or even in the nets.

In fact, it's a great overall plan for any fast bowler who wants to bowl longer spells and come back for second and third times with equal fire. So lets take a look at what he did:

Cricket Show 239: Competition Winner

Filed in:

This week's winner of the Cricket Show podcast question competition is John. He wins a free coaching course from PitchVision Academy.

The winning question was:

"My son (14) has cricket training with his club team Tuesdays, but on the same day he has also got a very respected coach who is giving him 1 to 1 coaching. My son also has club training on Fridays, but he has cricket games on Friday nights. The coach of the club junior team puts players who don't go to training that week to bat down at 11 and my son will find it hard to get to any club training. The only other club training my son can get to is senior. I'm wondering, should my son stop playing junior as he doesn't get to bat or bowl much and play senior cricket?"

Listen to the panels answer to his question here.
